NOKC.ca in Reflection -- In October of 2011 I won a trip to Italy, via winning the Sr. Rotax NOKC championship. I was treated to a weekend of exciting top of the world racing, sponsored by G.P. Canada. I had a G.P Kart provided to me along with an engine and a set of tires. This trip would have never been possible for me without the great prize the NOKC and Launi family provided. I met the owners of G.P and had a great time. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a competitive field of drivers to race in the NOKC, and maybe you could win a fantastic prize just like I did.

NOKC back in action this weekend

Series builds momentum after strong opening event two weeks ago

The NOKC (Northern Ontario Karting Championship) is all set for round two of the series this weekend. Numbers are expected to jump as the series is an official Rotax Qualifying event. Like before, the host Innisfil Indy track was jam packed with competitors looking to get in some testing before this second weekend.

“I was very happy with the turnout of the first event, and we expect even higher numbers for round 2 this weekend,” NOKC President Tony Launi said. “For example, we had 16 in Rotax Senior and the other classes were well supported. The prizes have been a strong draw for us, and the level of competition will be very high.”

Practice for the NOKC event is allowed all this week at Innisfil, with the event kicking off on Saturday, May 14th with official practice. Race day is Sunday, May 15th. As a note to competitors, all tires to be used at NOKC events must be purchased from Innisfil – they can be purchased anytime.

Classes for the NOKC are as follows; Novice, Micro Max, Junior Honda, Mini Max, Senior Honda, Junior Rotax, DD2, Senior Rotax, Masters and F125 ICC/Moto Shifter.

“Judging by the response of the first race, this weekend should rival to any regional series,”Launi said. “In addition, I want to remind the shifter drivers that they are eligible for the trip to Italy prize.”

Please Call Tony Launi to reserve your pit space.

High numbers expected for season opener at Innisfil Indy

INNISFIL, ONTARIO – The NOKC (Northern Ontario Karting Championship) is all set for the inaugural event this weekend. Last weekend, the host Innisfil Indy track was jam packed with competitors looking to get in some testing before the historic opening weekend.

“I was very happy with the number of competitors that showed up last weekend for testing,” NOKC President Tony Launi said. “We are expecting huge competition numbers for this opening event. The prizes up for grabs have really helped with the entries, and I think that the level of competition will be very high.”

Practice for the opening NOKC event will commence on Friday, April 29 at 10:00 am until 6 pm. Further practice will be on Saturday from 9am-5pm. All drivers are encouraged to take advantage of the generous practice time allotted for the opening event.

Round 1 of the NOKC will get underway with registration on Saturday from 1-3pm, then on Sunday from 7:15am. On track activities will start at 9:00 am.

Classes for the NOKC are as follows; Novice, Micro Max, Junior Honda, Mini Max, Senior Honda, Junior Rotax, DD2, Senior Rotax, Masters and F125 ICC/Moto Shifter.

“Judging by the response from last weekend’s practice, and the number of calls we have received about the event, along with the great prizes – like the trip to Italy for two drivers – we are sure this will be the first of many great events for the NOKC this year,” Launi said.

Please visit www.nokc.ca for more information, and call Tony Launi to reserve your pit space.
